A Community Coordination and Outreach (CCO) Meeting was held on September 25, 2017 in New Bloomfield to review a preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for communities in Perry County, including Howe Township. The purpose of this release of information is to notify residents, businesses and property owners that may be affected by the changes on the FIRM. These changes may result in changes to Flood Hazard Insurance Rates to affected properties under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). These changes may also result in adoption of a new or updated floodplain management ordinance in Howe Township that meets or exceeds NFIP requirements.
